The SEC's loss is asset management firm,
Alliance Bernstein's gain. Charles Fishkin currently serves as the head of the the SEC's
Office of Risk Assessment, which was
established in 2004 under SEC Chairman William Donaldson.
Fishkin came to the SEC after spending the first half of his career in private practice, most notably as VP of firmwide risk at Fidelity.
He also, apparently, occasionally finds time to rate books on Amazon.com (Reviewer Rank:
687746) and is an author
in his own right.
Mr. Fishkin is expected to finish up at the SEC early in the new year. Here's
GARP's take on the SEC's
press release announcing Fishkin's departure.
