Federal prosecutors gained a key victory in what appears to be a new front in their ongoing war against class action giant, Milberg Weiss. The L.A. County district court judge administering the case has ruled that investigators will be provided access to the payment records of
John Torkelsen a former expert witness for Milberg.
The Daily Caveat first hipped loyal readers to Mr. Torkelson's significance in this drama back in
November '05.Prosecutors had
recently announced that they would be expanding the scope of their investigation into Milberg's practices to include the possibility that clients may have been billed for expert work that was never actually conducted.
